Fr. Anthony Cekada was born in La Jolla, California, July 18, 1951. He went to school at De Sales Minor Seminary in Milwaukee, WI and graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Divinity. He then entered the Cistercians and briefly did studies at the Monastery of Hautrive in Fribourg, Switzerland. But during the revolution in the Conciliar Church of Vatican II, he entered the seminary of the Society of St. Pius X at Ecône, Switzerland. There he was ordained a priest by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre on June 29, 1977. Fr. Cekada worked as a priest in Michigan and New York, before leaving the SSPX in 1983. Afterwards he did pastoral work in New York, Wisconsin, and Ohio. Since 1989 he was an assistant pastor of St. Gertrude the Great Roman Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition, from 1995, he was a seminary professor at Most Holy Trinity Seminary, currently in Florida, teaching chant, liturgy, and Canon Law.

Among Fr. Cekada's literary works are an accurate translation of The Ottaviani Intervention and a best-selling short pamphlet The Problem with the Prayers of the New Mass. His great life's work is the definitive study of the New Mass, Work of Human Hands, which was published in 2009.

This collection of Fr. Cekada's other writings includes most of the writings and articles he published from the time of his ordination until shortly before his death on September 11, 2020. The first volume covers the origins of the Traditional Catholic movement in the United States. The articles included deal mainly upon subjects of avoiding dangerous or compromising groups and also defend the lawfulness and validity of the Holy Orders within Traditional Catholic clergy. Father also offers the solid arguments for Sedevacantism, that is, a theological conclusion that there is currently no reigning Pope because the pretenders in the Vatican are heretics and apostates, and incapable of being the visible head of the Catholic Church.
